N. L. McCoy crafts immersive, atmospheric stories that linger long after the final page. Specializing in dark fantasy, horror, and mystery, he blends rich worldbuilding, haunting themes, and deeply layered characters to create unforgettable narratives.
McCoy earned a BFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail University in 2025 and has had his work published in Adelaide Literary Magazine, with stories such as The Curve and The Last Light.
Beyond fiction, McCoy provides freelance writing, worldbuilding, and story development services for authors, game developers, and creatives looking to bring their worlds to life. Whether it's custom short stories, immersive TTRPG lore, or developmental editing, he helps craft powerful, emotionally resonant tales.
When not writing, he can be found spending time with his wife and three children, hiking through the backcountry of Wyoming, or rolling dice in a game of Dungeons & Dragons.
